Corporate Workshops

The benefits to your business of Corporate Workshops

Having employees who practice meditation can have a positive impact on your company. Evidence-based studies have shown:

  • An increase in focus and concentration, and hence productivity
  • More thinking creatively and flexibly
  • Being proactive to problems rather than reactive
  • Better memory
  • More emotional intelligence, leading to better relationships with colleagues
  • Reduction in stress and related health issues, therefore less absenteeism

Add to this, improvements in mood and positive emotions. And it has been shown that happy employees are more motivated and less likely to change jobs.

What we can offer your business

Sydney Institute of Meditation can offer tailored, engaging and interactive corporate workshops to suit your needs.

  • From 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  • From individuals to hundreds.
  • Onsite or online.

Since all that is required is a chair, it can be done in almost any setting.

A short session is the perfect interlude and refresher in a day-long meeting. A longer session gives an in-depth understanding.

How does it work?

Simply choose what you would like included in your session from the list below. If unsure, we are happy to advise.

A session involves a combination of a guided practice and some of the science explaining it.  (The amount of the science is at your discretion.  Some people just prefer the practice.)

The guided practice can incorporate up to 7 different types of mindfulness / meditation, so you experience a wide range.

A few of the science areas that can be covered are:

  • What is meditation?  What is mindfulness?  How do we do it?
  • The body’s response to stress and the physiology of what is happening in the brain and body.  Why meditation is an antidote.
  • How the practice of meditation improves focus, concentration and memory and therefore performance and productivity in the workplace.
  • Developing emotional regulation and impulse control and hence being proactive rather than reactive to problems.
  • Understanding emotions and emotional contagion and consequently how it impacts the culture in a workplace
  • The physiology of what is happening in the body when we meditate
  • How meditation builds up resilience, self-acceptance, self-esteem and hence confidence.
  • The negative bias of the brain, the science of optimism and pessimism, and consequently, how we can become more optimistic.
  • How certain meditations can improve a person’s capability for empathy and hence emotional intelligence.
  • What is happiness. Why we evolved to have happiness, and finally, how to become happy.

Popular choices are:

Package A – Mindfulness, meditation and stress explained. Guided breath, mantra and loving-kindness meditations. (1 hour)

Package B – Meditation, understanding emotions and emotional contagion in the workplace. Guided body scan, open-awareness and loving-kindness meditations. (1 hour)

Options

  • To include 10-15 minutes of gentle standing yoga stretches and poses (no mat required).
  • Mindfulness tasting experience

What our clients say about our Corporate Workshops:

We ran a university retreat and asked Susie to run a 1 hour presentation and mindfulness meditation session with us. Communications were very clear and smooth. She arrived promptly at the scheduled time, and our colleagues loved the session. Susie delivered an accessible and yet technical presentation, and also integrated different meditation exercises. This made the session really helpful and useful. I highly recommend Susie for her services!

Vera Horigue, Macquarie University

“Susie is a wonderful instructor who is patient and supportive. Her ability to combine meditation practice with scientific findings was refreshing. I thoroughly enjoyed her sessions.”
